What two words can immediately dispel tension
when conflict occurs?

It works like magic.
When something is said you disagree with or feels like an attack if you can say ‘thank you,”
It shifts the intention of the conversation.

‘Thank you’ doesn’t mean you agree.  
Thank you is a way of acknowledging another point-of-view and/or the person saying it.

Thank you also says you appreciate the other’s willingness to share.
It can also mean, ‘Thank you for helping me get clear about how I want to engage with you.”
