A sincere, “Tell me more about how you see this?” can transform the relationship.
Sincere is the operative word.
Centering helps you to
set aside your ‘point of view’ and move to a ‘viewing point.’

I wrote a blog about this in the past. Getting centered and using the 3 magic words ‘tell me more’ is magical. I often find we disagree less than I thought.
I use a very similar opening question. “Help me understand what the result looks like to you.” The key being, I want more information regarding your view. That completely diffuses the potential for conflict and erases the “me vs. you.”
