Avoid beginning with your opinion or your facts.
This often creates puts a bolt in an already closed door.
Instead:
First clarify your intention,
ask questions to learn about his or her perspective,
Be sincerely interested in his or her interests.
Listen.
You will know when the door is open.

Hey, Karen! YOUR answer to your question is right on, especially where selling is concerned! It’s not up to me to open the door to anyone else’s mind. It’s up to them to open their own door. No matter how much I want them to do what I want them to do, no matter whether they really would profit from doing what I think they SHOULD do, it’s not my job to get them to do it. Even if someone thinks my ideas are ridiculous…i’m not The jackass whisperer!! 😁 My only job in business, sales and life is to help others do what THEY want to do.
Hi Hugh! It is a relief to realize there are right fits and wrong fits!
The key to opening a closed door is to find the key. Listening to understand will lead to finding the key.
